Not all of us love cooking Thanksgiving dinner, so it’s great that we have options on November 23! We’ll be updating this piece with new information from our favorite restaurants through the holiday.
This restaurant in St. Charles will be open from 7 a.m.-noon, and is offering homemade Ho-Ka fried turkey.
The brunch at Allgauer’s in Lisle’s Hilton is always amazing, but for the holiday it’s even better. Come in from 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. for a buffet with 100+ items, $45.95 for adults and $22.95 for kids 6-12. These include carved roast turkey, herbed stuffing, mashed potatoes and turkey gravy, oysters on the half shell, peel & eat shrimp, snow crab legs, dozens of fresh salads, made-to-order omelets, hand-carved prime rib, baked ham, pasta, hot entrees, a kids’ buffet, and the never-ending dessert buffet with pumpkin pie and baked alaska.
Arrowhead Golf Club
Thanksgiving at Arrowhead takes place in a ballroom that overlooks a beautiful golf course. The buffet costs $40 per person and $20 per child (5-10). Expect roasted tuckey, prime rib, salmon, butternut squash soup, garden salad, mashed potato bar, smashed sweet potatoes with pecans, sage & sausage stuffing, fresh cranberry relish, green beans with wild mushrooms and crispy onion hay, and a dessert and donut station. Seatings take place at at 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 4:30 p.m. Sodas and alcohol are extra.
Buca di Beppo
Known for serving family-style Italian meals, Buca di Beppo fills up on holidays! The Thanksgiving feast, available starting at 11 a.m., includes sliced white meat turkey, gravy, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, spicy Italian sausage stuffing, grean beens, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie. You can still get the regular Italian fare as well.
Chicago Prime Italian
Enjoy a family-style Thanksgiving Dinner for $40.95 per person – $19.95 for kids 12 and under. The menu includes appetizers – homemade cornbread with whopped honey butter, fried calamari, or Asiago spinach crab fondue. Choose a plated salad, either Caesar or House. Then pick one family-style pasta course – rigatoni vodka, cavatappi alfredo, or penne marinara. For your main course, choose one per person: roasted turkey served with cranberry sauce, sage stuffying and giblet gravy; roasted pork with sage stuffing and apple compote; or broiled salmon with lemon butter sauce. Pick two family-style sides – mashed potatoes, mashed sweet potatoes, roasted brussel sprouts, green beans topped with fried onions, or rice pilaf. Dessert isn’t shared, which is a good thing – tiramisu, pecan pie, pumpkin pie, cannoli, or apple strudel a la mode. How are you going to pick just one?
Locations in Oak Brook and Schaumburg are creating a very special buffet that will be available from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. on Thanksgiving. Cost is $49.95 for adults, and $24.95 for kids 6-12. Make reservations at the website.
Come for the Second Annual Godfrey Thanksgiving, complete with a buffet, football, and play room for the kids. Cost is $39 for adults, $12 for kids. Buffet includes mashed potatoes, brussels sprouts, cornbread stuffing, creamed cipollini onions, bacon collard greens, asparagus with Parmigiana and lemon, roasted butternut squash soup, bourbon glazed carrots, tomato basil soup, beets with goat cheese, cranberry sauce, sweet potato puree, creamed corn, kale salad, and haricot vert. The carving station features turkey and prime rib, and you can choose one from these pastas: cavatelli with Bolognese, Pomodoro, or pesto served family style from the kitchen. A dessert bar includes pumpkin pie, pecan pie, apple and pear crumble, tiramisu, cotton cando, chocolate covered strawberries, and petit fours. Beverages are extra.
The Drake Hotel Oak Brook
The beautiful Drake Hotel Oak Brook serves Thanksgiving buffet from noon to 5:00pm on Thursday Thanksgiving day. At $65 for adults including Champagne and Mimosas and $25 for kids from 6-12 (kids 5 and under are free), guests can choose from carving stations with traditional all natural turkey, herb rubbed prime rib, brown sugar and bourbon glazed ham, or seafood including oysters on the half shell, smoked salmon, shrimp cocktail or smoked white fish. Entrees include herb crusted beef loin strip, herb roasted turkey, stuffed salmon, and grilled chicken breast, and basil fettuccine seafood arrabbiata, with a wide variety of side dishes including soups, mashed potatoes, brandied sweet potatoes, sautéed green beens with mushrooms, salads, imported and domestic cheeses, fruit, and an extensive dessert table.
Harry Caray’s Italian Steakhouse
Locations in Chicago, Rosemont, and Lombard are offering traditional Thanksgiving specials on Thanksgiving Day, including hand-carved roasted turkey, herb-roasted prime rib, and an all-you-can-eat sides buffet (at Rosemont and Lombard). The regular menu is available as well. Reservations are recommended.
Give your Thanksgiving a German touch with the menu at Hofbrauhaus in Rosemong. Thanksgiving Day specials include Schwein Bauch & Bacon Sauerkraut for $10; Truthahn Braten (roast turkey with thyme-infused gravy, cranberry sauce, cornbread and pretzel stuffing, and vegetables) for $22; vegetables of the day for $5 each, and apple cobbler and pumpkin pie for $12. Add traditional hot spiced Christmas wine for $10.
The Thanksgiving buffet at this Pac-Man themed eatery runs from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. and costs $30 for adults, $15 for kids. Enjoy classic games before or after your meal!

This Chicago steakhouse opens for Thanksgiving from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. with its signature dinner menu, featuring slow-roasted black truffle turkey breast with chestnut stuffing, brussels sprouts, garlic, and rosemary.
McCormick & Schmick’s
Locations will be offering a roasted turkey dinner on Thanksgiving that also includes butternut squash bisque or walnut mixed greens, mashed potatoes and gravy, cornbread stuffing, seasonal vegetables, apple squash casserole, and cranberry sauce. The dinner menu is also being served, so you can get your favorite seafood and steaks too!
Morton’s The Steakhouse

North Branch Pizza & Burger Co.
Technically, North Branch is closed on Thanksgiving. In truth, it offers a rather special event for the day, for people who need a little assistance, or are spending the day alone. The complimentary traditional Thanksgiving lunch is hosted by the staff. Call for details.

Sam & Harry’s Steakhouse
Sam & Harry’s in Schaumburg is open from noon-8 p.m. on 11/23 with a $28 buffet ($16 for ages 6-11). The salad station includes ambrosia salad, harvest salad, cornbread, rolls, and honey butter. The trimmings are carved turkey and carved ham. The fixin’s are butternut squash bisque, green bean casserole, brussels and bacon, au gratin potatoes, mashed potatoes and gravy, mac and cheese, apple sage stuffing, and cranberry sauce. The Chicago and Naperville locations are serving a $39 roasted turkey dinner with a starter – either an iceberg lettuce wedge, caesar salad, market fresh greens, shrimp and lobster bisque, or butternut squash soup. This is followed by your entree of hand-carved roasted turkey with sweet onion apple sausage stuffing and gravy, and cranberry relish. Pick two side dishes – sweet potato casserole, shaved brussels sprouts, creamed style spinach, wild steakhouse mushrooms, buttered shallot green beans. Dessert is either a chocolate pecan pie, pumpkin pie, bananas foster bread pudding, or cheesekcake with strawberry sauce. Ala carte menu items, appetizers, and side dishes are also available.
Weber Grill Restaurant
In addition to a catering menu if you’d like to have Weber Grill eats come to your home, the restaurant is offering its Thanksgiving Grilled Feast for $29.95 per adult, and $10.95 per child. The starter is your choice of grill-roasted butternut squash soup, Caesar salad, or mixed green salad. Your main course is a grill roasted smoked turkey with grilled sausage stuffing, turkey gravy, and cranberry sauce. For a side, choose roasted garlic mashed potatoes or whipped sweet potatoes, and grilled asparagus or grill roased brussels sprouts. For dessert, choose either pumpkin pie or chocolate espresso pecan pie.
The Thanksgiving features at this Chicago restaurant are on offer from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Chef selections include turkey breast with pan gravy, maple bourbon glazed ham, buttermilk-marinated bottom sirloin, Faroe Island Salmon, pork belly, turkey legs, linguisa sausage, classic prime rib, Moroccan chicken, or the NY strip. The harvest table includes creamy butternut squash soup, red potato horseradish smash, apple walnut stuffing, green bean casserole, or roasted sweet potatoes. Dessert is a traditional pumpkin pie with a ginger snap cookie crust.
